at Kalaeloa, 11 volunteers from the Pearl Harbor Kiwanis Club and
Iolani Key Club monitored marine debris and cleaned up Nimitz Beach.

At
the Kapolei Native Plant Garden at Pu`u O Kapolei, 25 volunteers
from Boy Scout troop 44, Chaminade University, and the Kapolei Hawai`ian
Civic Club cleaned the up the garden, and watered and weeded the
native plants. The Hawai`ian Civic Club also hosted a post project
picnic for volunteers from the Kapolei, Kalaeloa, and Timberline
projects. |

At
Pu`u Ualaka`a State Park, 59 volunteers from the Army, Aliamanu
Teen Center, and State Volunteer Services took seniors for an outing
in the park, with an interpretive walk and a picnic and storytelling
afterward. |

Camp Timberline, 33 volunteers from Hickam Air Force Base and Canon
USA transplanted native plants in the greenhouse, cleared invasive
weeds, outplanted native plants, and installed a new drip irrigation
system at the camp's native plant garden. |

In
the Ala Wai watershed , 215 volunteers organized by Youth for Environmental
Service cleaned up Nu`uanu and Kanaha Streams, helped restore Kaneloa
Wetlands, cleaned beaches, and worked in the Diamond Head Peace
Garden. |
