8 was designated as World Ocean Day at the Earth Summit in Rio
de Janeiro in 1992. However, it has not yet been officially designated
by the United Nations. Kai Makana, a non-profit organization in
Hawai’i, is working to lead our state to embrace World Ocean
Day through work with children. |
